Just got back from the Middle School Michindoh Trip and it was a great time. Pictures are still being uploaded and I have to collect a few other SD cards from people who had cameras. Nonetheless a number of the photos are available here. http://picasaweb.google.com/yfmaumeeumc So check it out.
Also, the youth did some great service work up there splitting and stacking a lot of firewood for the camp. All in all it was a great experience.
Below I have added some interviews with a few of the artists from the cds we made.

way behind!
Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Hi All-
sorry for the lack of updates over the past month! A lot of good stuff has been happening, and we haven't kept it up to date! That's gonna change here. New pictures are up from New Years, and the calendars will all be updated this weekend.
This Saturday and Sunday is the Middle School Michindoh retreat, and there is no Middle School or Sr. High youth fellowship. Also there is no confirmation this weekend. Enjoy the Super Bowl... and GO COLTS.

Diaper Drive
Thursday, October 29, 2009
This week we are going to be introducing a 'Diaper Drive' for all youth 6th thru 12th grade as well as the congregation to participate in. The goal is to collect 10,000 diapers in 3 weeks, close to a lifetime supply for one baby, for the crisis pregnancy center. One of the primary difficulties for young mothers is the overwhelming quantity of items a baby needs. Crisis Pregnancy Centers commit to helping provide for those needs in order that young mothers can more easily navigate the difficulties of parenthood. I bet we can get much more than 10,000 but it is a start.
USURV
I have started a service journal at http://usurv.blogspot.com there is nothing to the site, but it may be worth looking at.
If you want to be contacted whenever we find a random service project please email me your cell # and let me know whether or not you can receive txts. If we have an immediate need I will call or txt during school and you can respond to the message whenever you get it.
There is also a link to "usurv" in the upper right hand corner of this page.
This week in youth ministry
Monday, October 26, 2009
This week in youth fellowship we will be focusing on relationships. Sr. High will have a somewhat open forum to discuss their fears, struggles, hopes, etc... with regards to relationships as well as some honest feedback from the leaders. Plus there should be a lot of laughs and a generally good time.
Middle School will also be talking about relationships, but not quite in the same manner as the high school. This will be a great chance for you to ask some awesome questions, and explore what it means to be in relationship with friends, family, and the other gender as well.
WOW is moving into a new realm starting this week. While it will not appear much different in the next 4 weeks, our focus is shifting. Trust me there will be just as much food, and just as much dodgeball, but the messages are changing focus, and I hope you all are ready to make a difference in this world. This is going to be exciting times for WOW, as we begin to not only have our Wednesday after school program but begin to engage in acts of service to our Maumee community.
Confirmation class will be on Sunday at 4:30pm in the conference room and end at 6pm. If you are in the eighth grade and intend on being confirmed this year please planning on joining us. Just as a fair warning this year's confirmation class will run from now until early April, and is a fairly intensive look into the Christian faith and what it really means to be a member of Christ's Universal Church as well as an active member at Maumee UMC.
I think that is it for now.
In Christ,

Corn Maze Oct. 18th
Monday, October 12, 2009
This weekend both the middle school and the Senior High will be going to the corn maze at the butterfly house. This is always a very fun night and would be a good time to bring a friend to introduce them to youth fellowship. The middle school and senior high will be in separate vehicles and mazes. This is going to be a great time for all.
If you are a parent who is willing to drive that would be great. We have 2 12 passenger vans, but will likely have closer to 50 kids, so minivans will help!
